Burials of members of St John's Church in the Victoria Cemetery, 1858 to 1863

Source: St John's Cathedral archives, items 30-25-05

The officiating ministers encountered regularly in these following burial records during the years 1858 to 1863 were as follows:
The Rev. James Smith, Scots Chaplain at St Andrew's Church, 1850 to 1883;
The Rev. John Chubb Ford, English Chaplain at St John's Church, 1854 to 1870;
The Rev. George Ogilvie, Assistant Chaplain at St John's Church, 1856 to 1858.

From the beginning of 1858, the burial records maintained at St John's Church were generally only of those funerals of the members of that congregation.

For the records of burials conducted by the clergy of the Presbyterian, Methodist and Lutheran Churches, investigators will find that these have been conserved at the British Cemetery, Chacarita, and at the individual churches.
